Milvik Bangladesh Ltd., commonly known as BIMA, is an organization that aims to provide affordable insurance and health services to the masses through mobile technology. Their portfolio includes 24/7 telemedicine, specialist consultations, and access to over 500 partner hospitals across Bangladesh. Additionally, they offer services such as hospitalization cashback, medicine coverage, and personalized care programs. They cater to individuals, families, and corporate clients, aiming to provide comprehensive healthcare solutions tailored to diverse needs.
However, despite these promising services, there have been significant issues reported by users, including me. This report will delve into my personal experience with Milvik’s services, highlighting the discrepancies between their advertised services and the actual service quality, and the challenges faced in discontinuing their service.
Milvik’s Promised Services

Milvik Bangladesh Ltd. markets its services aggressively, especially in busy areas of Dhaka, through field agents. These agents approach pedestrians, explaining Milvik’s health insurance services and encouraging sign-ups. Their promotional strategy often paints a picture of high-quality, easily accessible health services. Some of the key services they claim to provide include:
- 24/7 Telemedicine: Access to medical advice through audio or video calls with doctors.
- Specialist Consultations: Consultations with specialists when needed.
- Discounts at Partner Hospitals: Reduced costs at over 500 partner hospitals.
- Hospitalization Cashback: Refunds for hospital stays.
- Medicine Coverage: Coverage for prescribed medicines.
- Personalized Care Programs: Tailored healthcare programs for individual needs.
Reality of Milvik’s Services
Despite the appealing features, my experience with Milvik’s services was far from satisfactory. I subscribed to their service with the expectation of receiving quality medical advice whenever needed. However, the reality was different.
Telemedicine Service Failures
Whenever I or my family members tried to use the telemedicine service, we were often advised that the issue couldn’t be resolved online. Instead, we were told to visit a nearby hospital. This contradicts their promise of resolving health issues through online consultations. Here are some specific instances:
- Unavailability of Doctors: On several occasions, when trying to access the telemedicine service, there were no doctors available to take the call.
- Referral to Hospitals: Instead of providing medical advice, the service frequently directed us to visit nearby hospitals, defeating the purpose of having a telemedicine service.
- Technical Issues: Even when the service was accessible, there were technical difficulties such as poor call quality or disconnections.
Poor Customer Service

Attempting to discontinue the service proved to be an arduous task. When I decided to cancel my subscription, Milvik’s customer service was unresponsive and evasive. Here’s a detailed account of the issues faced:
- Unreachable Customer Support: Despite numerous attempts to contact their customer service, the calls either went unanswered, or my balance would run out while waiting for them to pick up. This was particularly problematic with their official number, +8809610500599.
- Evasive Responses: On the rare occasion that I managed to reach a representative, I was given excuses about technical difficulties or told to call back later. Despite these assurances, my attempts to reach them again were futile.
- Unclear Process for Cancellation: The process to cancel the service was unclear and cumbersome. Representatives often redirected me or provided contradictory information.
Unauthorized Deductions
Even more concerning were the unauthorized deductions from my bKash account. Milvik continued to deduct monthly fees without any verification or OTP, simply because there was a balance in my account. Attempts to stop these deductions through bKash were unsuccessful, as I was advised to resolve the issue with Milvik directly.
Steps Taken to Resolve the Issue
To resolve these issues, I took several steps:
- Contacting bKash Customer Service: I reached out to bKash’s customer care, explaining the unauthorized deductions and requesting a halt to these transactions. Unfortunately, they informed me that this could only be stopped by Milvik.
- Documenting Evidence: I documented my interactions with Milvik, including call recordings and screenshots of communications with bKash.
- Persistent Efforts: Despite the difficulties, I continued trying to reach Milvik to resolve the issue.
My experience with Milvik Bangladesh Ltd. has been a stark contrast to the high-quality services they advertise. From unfulfilled promises of telemedicine and specialist consultations to the challenges of discontinuing their service and unauthorized deductions, it has been a frustrating journey. This report highlights the need for better regulatory oversight and consumer protection in the insurance and healthcare sectors.
For anyone considering subscribing to Milvik’s services, it is essential to be aware of these potential issues and proceed with caution.
